Not saying he panned out, but I think that pick was more of a take a chance on a player with high potential, but some drawbacks such as injuries.

I was gonna say the exact same thing then I realized this was an NFL thread. All these teams eating off the players we drafted during a few of our dark years. I dont know any other team in the NBA that hit more than the Lakers.

And, I would ask people what "clear talent" has he passed on for a poor player in the late first round and second round, where it gets closer to a crapshoot?

People keep saying Metcalf and Samuel, but every team passed on them.


Look at all of his draft picks at 22 or so and higher. He almost always hits a HR on those.

I think that's why I love the draft. It's so random.
Some cats you look at and they check all the boxes, turns out they're nothing in the league. Other dudes you never heard of get picked and turn out being great.

A lot of these cats drafted just to be bodies in camp and never turn out to be anything. That funnel out process is crazy in the NFL. A lot of cups of coffee being given out in the league.

Vinnie got drafted on the strength of nick probably calling in a favor, wtf is Kenny vacaro

and if we being honest some nikkas seen the cup of coffee get pourd never got to take a sip before it cooled off enough to drink, i remember seeing a name like damn i remember him in college, nikka had 2 years and he was gone

We've had some hits though. Getting Eric Kendricks in the 2nd in 2015 Danielle Hunter in the 3rd and Diggs in the 5th in 2015, Dalvin in the 2nd in 2017, Justin Jefferson last year

it was a few gems but first round got some busts/journeymen

y’all remember Dorial Green Beckham dude wasted such a good physical talent, dude left Missouri, probably chasing a bag, spent a hot second in Oklahoma and spent 2 years in the league, and he couldn’t get his mind right
