I still remember when Amare Stoudemire came out of nowhere to snatch the NBA Rookie Of The Year Award away from him.Despite the media being on Yao's dikk that year.Kobe knew what was up, tho. When they asked him who should win ROY, he gave them this exact same look:childplease: & said "Amare Stoudemire!"...Good ol days:wow:
Yao was a much better player than amare in primes

Nah y'all overrating him now.He was a nifty test tube baby, but Amare before the knee injuries was a whole different kind of monster. He shytted on Yao damn near every time the faced each other. The collateral damage used to have Steve Francis wanting to snuff Amare for his boy.

prime Amare was one of the best scorers from the 4 position I’ve ever seen play ball

Amare's J was as good or better.Went to NY and revived the Knicks garnering MVP votes. No way Yao was much better. He'd be lucky to break even with Amare.Respect tho

Yao doesn't have the guard skills of Jokic and will get slaughtered on defense in the small ball era. On top of physically lasting 4-5 years.

No.

In this era. Yao would def slim down some. He won't have to go against Shaq anymore. Gobert is a DPOY and he got slaughtered on defense too by the Clippers. The difference Yao has the skill set to make you pay on the other end.

Yao wasn't husky, slimming down would make him even more injury prone. He was just too big of a body. DPOY Gobert being slaughtered proves my point. Yao's time to dominate was the time he came in but he simply couldn't stay healthy. Y'all have to stop fantasizing that every old player can "eat" today. The game evolves.

Yao would easily be an All Star and All NBA player in this era.

He was skilled. It’s a shame the injuries caught up to him cause he wasn’t even in his mid 30s when his NBA career ended
