No such thing as being back to normal. You cannot put the genie back in the bottle.
This is the republican party now...the next person will be a mini Trump.
The days of the Bush/McCain/Romney republicans being the nominee are over...the base expects a bombastic red meat fame throwing buffoon who 'owns' the libs.

Biden didn't really have an effect and barely won.

I suspect Harris will crush him, Obama style. Which could prompt someone worse than Trump, who knows.
The normy Republicans sold their souls to get some extreme Republican policies through. Now they stuck with Trumpism for awhile imo.

and they'll sell their souls if it doesn't work and they need to adjust. the reason they sold their souls with trump, is BECAUSE IT WORKED.

Climate has changed, and he's a laughing stock. IF he gets blown out, they will change tactic.....again. Its politics, you dont get blown out and stay the same, thats just fukking stupid.

thats why the dems are finally attacking instead of being passive.

There is no post-Trump society. Republicans aren't going back to nominating establishment figures again, at least not within the next decade IMO. The republican party will remain an anti-democracy, autocratic party that runs on faux populism and very real racism. All while being heavily propped up financially by tech barons who are pushing AI and automation as a means of destroying labor. They want a societal collapse and are betting on the guys with guns remaking the world. I will say though...the one thing missing from this fascist vision is the military. For whatever reason, the far right is failing to get young men to join the military or even consider military service. Despite young men struggling financially and refusing to go to college...they won't join the military. And IMO it's a major flaw in the current fascist blueprint for conservatives.

They aren't going to be able to adjust because most Republicans are MAGA. It ain't enough normal Republicans left to adjust. They stuck with Trumpism for the foreseeable future.

Also contrary to popular belief most people who leave the military end up either left wing or more left wing than they previously where for what it's worth.

The neo-cons have already hijacked the Democratic party while as the Maga Republicans will continue on throughout the first half of this current century.

Eventually the Christian right will be the main dominant part of the republican party after MAGA/Tea party's era is over.

he doesn't even have a clear policy, which is why when I hear people mentioning that, I look at them like they are crazy.

that motherfukker ran up the deficit by 40% in his 4 years in office. the highest of any president. this fukking idiot ran a casino into the ground, which is supposed to be mathematically impossible.

Post Trump isn't the problem. The problem is the infrastructure.........supreme court, federal judges he appointed across the nation, and the ideology. Unless Dems make significant changes (doubt it) this is only the beginning.

I feel like the Republican party will be split in 2.

People who are right of center and make it a point to distance themselves from Trump (ironically enough they will try to ignore whatever support they showed for him in the past)

And the far right Republican who pushes his agenda as much as possible.

Republicans have slowly started to become more comfortable with showing their lack of support for him.
I want to agree but republicans tend to fall in line when it matters to them. In 2015-2016 there were several anti-Trump republicans who later kissed the ring. :manny:
