How do you make modern beats that AREN'T trap?

Trap beats are absolutely dominant in the genre of hip-hop right now. Is there a modern sound that isn't trap? If so, how do you achieve this?

I want to sometimes create beats that won't make people think of the 90's, but I don't want them to always be trap beats, as they are highly over-saturated in hip-hop right now.

Just create what u want to create..

Just off the top of my head there's the ambient type sound, the DJ mustard type. there's Options.

I don't think Trap is dominant anymore, just 808's
