Learn to count beats / bars . It will help u immensely. I started with an Mpc 2000xl and a cheap yamaha keyboard . Bought a triton keyboard and moved to maschine. Software is the future less limitations than the older mpcs .

Lol true still can't compete with 8gigs of ram on a PC and a crazy amount of hard drive space. I made beats for years with an un modded Mpc and Zip disks. It was maddening. Switching to maschine was

Brehs someone quote me, i just be messing around with FL Studios making complete garbage but i got a cheap 200 dollar yamaha keyboard in my basement. It says midi in and out in the back, how do i go about hooking it up (if possible) to my computer and FL Studios so i can use it instead of the piano roll and Small computer keyboard.

I be lookin at fl studio tuts on youtube but be lost.

If i had skills, id want to create trap, ciara style r&b, and pop track (britney spears) for fun

if its not usb one u might need midi cable to plug into your soundcard

Yeah you can get a USB to midi cord and then run a midi cable into that and plug into your midi out on the keyboard.

What about the soundcard? My keyboard old as shyt but pretty much still in top condition, just dusty

You can get a cheap audio interface like a mtrack which is usb.

Midi cable from your keyboard to the interface and your good.

mpc is kool, depends on what you want to make, can get the newer one or the older ones

first

Learning curve is steep at first if you have no experience using drum machines.
