How do you guys find energy in a cutting diet?

You'd be dead if you were jogging 5 miles, sparring and only eating 500 cals a day, it's not even remotely possible.

ive been doing it for 3 years. except when i had that job and i could eat :ahh: but that was only for 2 months.

500 calories though?

you are SERIOUSLY miscounting how many calories you ACTUALLy take in...or are straight up lying.

500 calories a day for any length of time and you wouldn't survive.

i dont actually count the calories. it was just an estimate. all im saying is i only have 1 meal a day. :manny:

yea 500 calories is nothing.

but still one meal though?
daamn bruh...

like the average 12 inch at subway is about 900-1000 calories alone. plus add in a drink and its 1200+

This is the fitness forum, most of us have a decent idea of dietary needs, anyone claiming they only get 500 cals per day is straight up lying.

lol ive been in sports all my life. ive forgotton more about sports than you ever knew. i actually do sports not just talk about it on a forum. i know how to get to a certain weight by a certain time. ive got it down to where i dont even have to sweat it out in the bath/sauna anymore.

i only eat like 500 calories a day. its called having no job and no money. i get 1 meal a day. my body is in starvation mode 24/7. i have to box with zero energy. and i still manage to get my 5 miles roadwork in and daily workouts. as well as being in the gym sparring every day.

I feel bad for you. Not that you need my pity! If I wasn't so wary of sharing my identity on here, I would paypal you funds. Where are your people? Still, it's pretty excellent that you are exercising and eating small portions. Are you trying to lose weight or build some kinda discipline?

This is an excellent thread. Keep the suggestions going. They're very helpful. I'm already realizing my plateau could probably be fixed by sleeping more, incorporating caffeine, among other things. This is a good thread.

No, I keep my calories below 1600. Download myfitnesspal and track your calories.

As far as your question, are you getting enough sleep? Also I find it helps to work out depending on whether you're a morning or night person. I'm a morning person so I have the energy to workout early as opposed to later in the day when I'm tired from work and class and just feel like plopping into bed. Caffeine and B12 could help, as well.

I would cut out the bread and get your fiber from flaxseed and non-starchy sources. I would also consume 1500 cals and work out 3-7 times a week.
Terrible advice.

1. Count your calories using myfitnesspal.

At 5'9 and 180lb a true 2k calories will be as low as you'll need to go for the forseeable.

I'm 5'9 and got down to 163lb eating 2200 and exercising 4 times a week.
