They are not treated very nicely before they die. Zoos are just like slaughter houses only without the killing.

I see your logic, but it's pretty faulty. I actually just started eating meat a few times a week to increase my weight after stopping for almost 3 years. But I never stopped for moral reasons, animals die every day b, it is what it is. Zoos are just fukked up all the way around.

Why is it fukked up and Slaughter houses are not? They raise animals to be killed and there is nothing depressing about that? They are not free and roaming the wild and shyt.

I wish all animals were treated fairly. I'm definitely not down with the slaughterhouses and mistreatment of animals. The only option I have is to stop eating meat (I'm already tall and too skinny for that) or produce my own (which is not a viable option for me). Everyone doesn't have the choice to buy organic or get essential nutrients from other sources ( a vegan lifestyle is comparatively expensive) But the Zoo is total recreation, it's not at all necessary

I feel conflicted about it

in one way it is cruel to keep them locked up and shyt. but I think it's also an invaluable teaching tool. seeing animals in the zoo is not the same as looking at a picture or video. I think it's something that can inspire people's interest in science and the natural world

On one hand I like seeing animals up close I wouldn't fukkin dare get close to if they weren't behind an enclosure. However, it is depressing seeing such beautiful creatures caged when they should be roaming free.
