Race as we are using it..... is a Political Social Construct based on Origin and Appearance and Changes depending On Time and Place...
We are all Africans with differing shades or hues of Brown....Their is only One Race - The Hu(e)man Race.
There was a time in The US when Polish Irish and Southern Italians were not Considered White.
Personal and Social designation do not always agree...So you can be white in the DR but seen as black in the US.
Time and Place should dictate what is appropriate nomenclature to go by....as your life may depend on it
My Sister is Considered Black in the US white in Ghana colored in South Africa and brownin in Jamaica.
What we have are Ethnicities(tribes) usually based in or on place of Origin.
If in Africa most ethnicities in Africa are Matrilinial whilst in Asia and Europe the opposite is true they are mostly Patrilinial.
In the Colonial US America....The One drop rule was codified into law - Racial Integrity Act or Miscegenation Laws
The Haitians defeat the Three Great Colonial Slave States....Do you think all the Black Haitians were United?
Martin L King won us Civil Rights....Do you think all the Blacks in USA were united behind him?
Functional Unity is what is desired....Where our Interests align is where we work together to achieve mutually beneficial goals.
As when Capitalist Democracy USA and Great Britain work with Communist Russia to defeat Fascist Nazi Germany
John Brown and his sons died fighting to end Slavery....Skin Color does not define the Contents of an Individuals Character
