It depends on if your software was already hard set.

If you are still "cooking", you might adopt other ways.


My go-to example of this is Prodigy.
Mobb reps QB, but supposedly there are QB niccas who never accepted him because he was from Lefrak.
But he comes off like a QB dude to me.
Akinyele and Nore are from Lefrak, and P seems less like them IMO and more like QB dudes.

Being born in a city and living there the first 2 years of your life where you wasn’t cognizant of shyt is not where you’re from, it’s where you were born. If you lived somewhere from 5-18 that’s where you’re from, that’s the place where you’re likely to adopt your culture and customs (aside from what your family does at home)

Personally, I would say that you're from Ohio since that's where you grew up and spent your entire childhood and adolescence there.

If I ever became a rapper I would have NO IDEA what hood to rep in my music I lived in multiple neighborhoods in Brooklyn growing up


I lived in Flatbush, Flatlands, Tompkins PJs, back to Flatbush and then Canarsie before I moved to Florida. I think I spent the most time living in Flatbush in my life overall.


If some random dusty nikka that don't like me got interviewed on Smack DVD trying to expose me would have me like Random Flatbush nikka that lived near Parkside Ave saying he never seen me in the hood I lived on the other side near the Junction! In my next interview I would be juezling trying to explain my living situation growing up like how Fivio Foreign was about his age in that Vlad interview



I remember Booth posters saying when the "This is why I'm hot" dude was poppin even though he was from NYC nobody knew who he was or where he was from He just popped in the rap game out of nowhere....

the answer for you is Flatbush......rappers gotta claim any neighborhood that has the most rep that they contributed nothing 2
