yeah i find long walks and music to be therapeutic in a way.lmao @ drugs.
I was last severely depressed when I was about 21. I didn't handle it too well. I don't think I even left the house for several weeks.
I think just being sad, I listen to music...for hours. Or delve back into my books. It's amazing how much I can forget about what's upsetting me when I'm into the world created by the book I'm reading.
Long walks really help. That sounds cliche, but I've walked through 3 entire towns before I even realized it.
I don't think telling someone to "cheer up" or telling them they need to get drunk works though. People who are depressed seem to be misunderstood a lot. And often feel neglected by those they love. It's hard to know what helps. Sometimes they need attention. Sometimes they need to be left alone.
If you're depressed, I'd recommend going to a counselor of some kind.
