Maybe can assist you in creating some type of local (SA/ATX) buzz. I'd also say try to tap in with a couple HTX djs as well to start pushing regional buzz. It'll help your views and give you a better chance of getting your music heard by someone who can offer you an opportunity.

I have ten thousand views on YouTube, just music.

Ask a label, do a win/win and you're signed.

Voila, you got your goal.

You want to earn money for the long term, that's a different question.

Source - I was signed to 2 different record labels in my 20s before I decided to run my own.

I make money off my music, but also work full time.

I have been in magazines and recorded tracks with Kool Keith and Jus Allah.

Good luck, and go for your dreams!

I'm worried that the Coli is going to go away as soon as late next year. I'm actually going to try to release some stuff here in the booth that needs to get to some authentic hip hop ears before it goes dark.

I suggest that you don't put your dreams on hold.

You need artistic layers. fashion, musicality, personality, confidence, education, fearlessness, and above all faith in yourself even if you're not where you want to be at the moment.

Artist development is paid by YOU at the label.

Advertising...studio time...this is old school knowledge.

I learned young.

I volunteered some time (short time) when I was 18 as an intern at a major media outlet circa 2000 and I saw dozens of artists in a damn near boot camp/ assembly line for girl groups by major labels. Universal Records was notorious for digging into the crates of every city in America for exploitation.

In about 2 months and quitting...I knew who the pawns were.

shyt has not changed except for

Distribution is not a barrier any more.

You can find artists everywhere.

Try your hand in Afrobeats and get some tools like voclea and fukk around with some sounds.

Collab with some Naija /South African Brehs...they got the most obvious juice for the next wave in music.

You gotta set the table...the artists will come.

You didn't say if you produced...so if you're not able to make music... you're wasting everybody's time.
I produce and one of my biggest videos is 22 minutes of instrumentals.

Okay. This is great advice. Exactly why I came here.

I been in the same boat so I got you. Are you doing live shows? How many songs are on YouTube for the 10k and how long have they been up there?

Like if you upload a song right now on a Friday night/afternoon, how many plays do you think you'll have by Monday?

Am I doing live shows? I was pre-covid, but not anymore.

How many song on YouTube? 200. How long have they been up there? Just two years.

How many plays will a song have by Monday? 20 if it's good.

I would describe myself as a successful live artist who transitioned to recorded stuff after the pandemic.

Also wait, are you just a producer or a producer/rapper? You have an ear and some good beats going off that beat tape you linked above. If you're just a producer, why are you tryna get signed.

You genuinely gotta work on marketing, tags, titles, etc. 362 videos and 10k views would be considered legitimately horrible for anyone. That doesn't disregard your talent but you're thinking way too ahead

Yeah, bro, a lil over 6 plays a day is not appealing to a label at all. Especially as a producer. You need to work on networking more. Get more rappers on your beats and that's free promo.

Send some beats out, collab with local artists, collab with popping nikkas from here. Anything to draw traffic to you. And work on building that local to Internet pipeline. It's important shyt. They'll stream you more than anyone else

There's a rapper at work that wants my beats but I'm worried he won't like or use them.

Send em anyways. who cares. you might not like his verse or wanna use it. don't let that scare you away from potential opportunities, especially in the music world. You genuinely never know
