nah he had a point. pre-2010 macbook pros didnt have built in HDMI audio support for some dumb reason. you used to have to get those red white cables to get sound. they fixed it tho. did u have to change your audio output settings?

So is what Dodger fitted posted good, is that all I need or do I need an aux cable depending on my tv... Sony bravia 40Ex500 model?

breh trust me i have bought the same exact one, and i have audi and video .. 1080p...excellent cable and monoprice never fails.

But like someone said pre-2010 macbooks don't have audio support. Mine is 2010 macbook pro 13" and i have no problem. So certainly take a look at your model first before purchasing.
