That doesn't make sense though breh, because you have to do that shyt FIRST BEFORE you actually end up getting those types of bags. It's not like they're pulling out of shape people off of the street and offering them $500,000 to lose weight.

nikka if you're a boxer, you get paid to fight, to fight you should be in shape. This is their job... If they don't perform they don't get paid.. You get up everyday and go to work because bills have to be paid.. They do it for the same reason.. It's part of their job..

NYC black coffee tough guys aka the Stoozy Boys
Lots of sweating and hot baths...contrary to popular belief, its not the salt, but the hot water that makes you sweat.

For my wrestling days, I did Sauna's and walking, since I tend to sweat easily, never had to run. Given my weight class of 220, I never really went over or under by much. Bulking and or losing was easy for me. Smaller guys have it the worst.

Very specific, high nutrient low calorie diets, constantly working out coupled with drinking mad water to keep that metabolism crazy high, shedding water weight before the weigh in via mad cardio, epsom salt baths and saunas, watching your weight year round, etc. Probably missed something but that's what I've observed.

It's gotta be hell waking up early az hell in the morning to have some lean ass breakfast then train, eat something that probably don't taste good at all, while watching ya brehs eating full fat full sugar food :mjcry:

one of my brehs fights muay thai and he gotta drink water all the time. pissing every 20 minutes :chillhov:

yeah man but the training... how can anyone be fat next to that?

You can't out train a poor diet.

And most of them aren't super fat, they are just fat compared to the chiseled lower weight MMA fighters. Most of them have muscular but average man builds.

I didn't think about an average heavyweight but you have some hws who are legit fat like Chris Arreola or Andy Ruiz Jr.

and I think you can out train a poor diet too, I'm living the student life eating hella junk food but I still did't get fat in fact I dropped like 7-9 pounds since I picked up boxing and moving around with bike. I'm not even an ektomorf body type...

Are you under 25? Because that shyt stops once you hit 30.

You've got to have great genetics to eat like shyt and not gain weight. If you are regularly working out and keep that routine, its easier to maintain but the older you get the harder it is to keep the weight off. Most of the Heavyweights tend to be older than the other weight classes and in HW there are actually strengths to being bigger. If you are a good grappler and a bigger guy, if you take them down, you can pretty much control the fight from there and HW fights typically either end quickly with a KO or plod along to a decision.

yeah, 24, I know shyt will get harder and harder once I'm over 30
I'm already nostalgic about being 19 eating just bout anything in any amount and not getting flabbier, like at all...

and yeah I know HW is a little different, I guess in MMA/wrestling especially, I mostly can talk about boxing though
Weight as an advantage can be more important among HWs too because of the unlimited weight but I guess with wrestling and MMA where more super close range combat occurs it gets even more important. In boxing not getting over the top heavy still matters among HWs cause boxers need to be more light on their feet in general and they have to have a better stamina, also they don't have to worry about grappling as much as MMA fghters or wrestlers even though boxing has its clinh fests too

And I don't even just mean the water weight or losing 5-10 pounds right before a fight.

I just mean how these motherfukkers go from 200+ to 160 and shyt in a couple of months. It's not even necessarily the weight loss itself that gets me :dwillhuh: it's the idea that a guy who is so undisciplined to gain so much weight when he's not fighting can have the discipline to lose all of that weight in order to fight.

Someone explain this phenomenon to me. :mindblown:

Well just like any sport, you have your off-season where you aren't active and diet and discipline can go to the wayside (ie if you are making millions and getting bruised up like Batman, go for the Cheesecake Factory). They are pro athletes and it is their job to make sure they can compete at an elite level. 7/8 hour workouts a day and dieting can turn anyone into brolic breh....

Natural weight is different from fighting weight unless genetics and age bless you with just a maintaining frame and not necessarily having a hard camp to make weight.

Discipline and motivation is key overall.

The weight they lose right before the weight in is water weight. U piss, sweat, shyt it out, then rehydrate after the weigh in.

shyt wrecks ur body tho, dudes get organ and live failure from cutting too much weight, shyt can kill u.

I don't understand this process either, especially with how they gain so much weight right back. I don't get how basketball players get fat either. Carmelo has been chubby for years, but plays pro ball, shouldn't he be thinner?
