How did you find out that R3/L3 was a thing ?

I mean there’s no other buttons…process of elimination
that would work if they were obviously buttons. a lot of arcade sticks could be pushed in, but it didn't do anything. it might seem obvious in hindsight, but at the time this was all new

My brother left me for dead. Didn't even teach me how to navigate main menus.

Idk how, but I figured out motion inputs on my own. L3/R3 was probably just me pressing every button to figure out what does what. I probably pressed the red light on a PS2 controller too:dead:

I have no idea... did they exist for the original Playstation?

I will say that now I frequently press L3/R3 on accident. Like, in the heat of the moment while playing GT7, I try to make a hard righthander, and accidently click L3, turning on my hazard lights. Don't remember doing it as a kid... fat thumbs now, I guess.

I remember being confused, but can't remember the game. I think it was GTA 3 when they told you to press L3 to use the horn
