when someone says I have to be a fan of the nearest team, then yes. I believe they are not a fan of the sport.
or could it be that some people are fans of the sport and enjoy watching the team most often shown in their area?
caps have had a good run for the last 5-7 years and i could give a fukk about hockey. i'll enjoy a game, but i have zero emotional investment. if they win , but deep down i don't celebrate or even feel great because i. don't. care. not about the city, about the sport.
this thread is honestly .
some of you became fans in the 2000s
some of you became fans because the team was winning at the time
some of you became fans because of soap opera storylines
this shyt is only slightly below the chick in the sports bar with her boyfriend who roots for the team with the most attractive players
I dont care why anyone likes a team, my point was; when people say you can only be fan of your local team, it's because they don't really like the sport, just the local team. Im not saying there's anything wrong with your local team being your favorite, but don't act like that's the only team I can like.
Hell, after Jordan retired I didn't even have a favorite team for years. Still don't, but I liked the way the Pacers are developing their team and it makes me want to watch to see what they're gonna do. I've been a Pacer fan for a strong 5 years now. But once they start rebuilding, I'll float around again, watch to see who's making good draft picks and watch them. I don't like any team enough to watch them lose every game in the most boring of ways. I like the sport way to much.
I have friends that take that fandom shyt to a whole 'nother level. fukk that, I enjoy the game too much. At the end of the year I don't really care who wins as long as it's exciting.
I like seeing the Pacers win because that was my diamond in the rough after they picked up Granger. So Imma ride this until they break up the team. Which I hope will last at least another 9 years. I keep up with every team, but nobody can tell me who I have to root for and why. Especially not with that bullshyt ass, "you gotta go with the local squad," shyt.
if you follow specific players in a team game, you're not really a fan of a team sport huh?
root for whom you want. hope you got spreadsheets breh, if the nba ever achieves parity you're gonna be trying to pick a new team
i also enjoy how supporting local teams by default (BECAUSE THEY'RE ON TV AND RADIO IN THE AREA WHERE YOU LIVE) means you can't enjoy games played by other teams. i have players whose game i enjoy and i watch them and support them. but i'm not a fan of a team just because a certain player's agent can work out a deal with its gm
Ok bruh.
Glad you have a high reading comp skills.
we never wore bags in our life. my pops hate them bag wearers
