:jbhmm: white iverson is almost 10 years old alone :jbhmm:

edit: song is over 8 years old. So unless thats post malone very first song, its safe to say hes been at this 10+ years :jbhmm:

"White Iverson" was done when Post Malone was just 19. Until then he was fukking around with heavy metal and alt rock. This was Post Malone exactly 10 years ago:

In the 2 years between that video and this one, he suddenly picked up cornrows, grills, speaks in black slang, pretends to live a "hip" lifestyle, and is getting help in the business from all sorts of established professionals. But look at his fukking dancing - does this look like someone who has spent even 6 months of his life engaged in black music? He moves around like a guy who took 6 days of lessons to figure out how to act in the video.

Saucin', saucin', I'm saucin' on you
I'm swaggin', I'm swaggin', I'm swaggin', oh-ooh (swaggin')
I'm ballin', I'm ballin', Iverson on you (swish, ooh, ayy)

Spendin', I'm spendin' all my fukkin' pay
I got me some braids and I got me some hoes
Started rockin' the sleeve, I can't ball with no Joes
You know how I do it, Concords on my toes
(This shyt is hard) ooh
I ain't rich yet, but you know I ain't broke, I
So, if I see it, I like it, buy that from the store, I (store, I)
I'm with some white girls and they lovin' the coca (coca)
Like they OT
Double OT like I'm KD, smokin' OG (smokin' OG)
And you know me, in my 2-3s and my gold teeth (and my gold teeth)

How the fukk is that authentic to have as his signature song just a year after he was doing rock with his ass hanging out of his jean shorts?

Malone has always had a love for alternative rock music, and appeared for a DJ set at Emo Nite in Los Angeles, California, in June 2017, playing songs by American alt-rock band My Chemical Romance at the event. According to Malone, his first foray into professional music began when he was in a heavy metal band. He says soon afterwards he transitioned to softer rock as well as hip hop, before beginning to experiment on FL Studio.

In June 2016, XXL editor-in-chief Vanessa Satten revealed Malone was considered for XXL's "2016 Freshman Class" magazine cover, but she was "told by his camp that he wasn't paying attention to hip hop so much. He was going in more of a rock/pop/country direction."

Malone cites Bob Dylan, in whom he became interested around the age of 15, as an influence on his music, calling him "a genius" and "a god" though his music has been called "about as far away from Rock n' Roll as you can get". He called "Subterranean Homesick Blues" the "first rap song". He has a tattoo of Dylan as well. Malone has cited Kurt Cobain and Johnny Cash as key influences too.

In a November 2017 interview with Polish media outlet Newonce, Malone said that modern hip-hop music lacks "people talking about real shyt" and added that "if you're looking to think about life, don't listen to hip-hop."

I like plenty of genres too, but anyone who thinks Post Malone is dedicated to hip hop and ain't just doing this shyt to make money is fooling themselves. His songs are just pop shyt with handlers giving him an hip hop image and production.

Random but what's the issue with Lil dikky?

Dikky was a struggling actor who started rapping just cause he knew it was easy for white rappers to get attention and he could then parlay that attention into hollywood writing/acting gigs. He's literally admitted that himself in interviews although he still tries the bullshyt claim that being white is a handicap rather than the only fukking reason anyone paid him any attention. Depending on your perspective on how "obvious" his grift is supposed to be, he's either a self-parody or straight up one of the fakest people in the entire business.

Boy rapping about cereal and wetting the bed:scust:

What in the name of cac spins is this shyt:mjlol: :mjlol: :dead:
I think it's a good idea. It's better than rapping about murder, fentanyl, and premarital sex.

I was pondering this earlier , but I think rap can be about literally anything from filing-your-taxes, to mundane weekend adventures ; so I don't see why we need to let it be what it currently is. I mean we had people like Macklemore make hit, global singles about going shopping at goodwill , so anything is possible. You see those Asian kpop acts do similar things too, but still command a global audience.

I also don't think relatability is important either cause most rap listeners (both black and white) can't relate to damn thing a headliner like lil baby or city girls raps about; but they still find it interesting. So subject matter can be vast and positive.

For example, imagine a sub genre of rap about some ordinary sht like going traveling. No mention of drugs, fancy cars, or degrading women. Just simple travel. I think individual verses from Future do this but imagine an entire album devoted to it. Or something else, like cooking or childrearing, or working life, etc.

Everybody's saying he's just presenting himself as a cool white guy and nothing else, but I've only heard two of his songs and he has a line "Shout out to my UPS workers making sure I receive it". Was the kid in the video getting UPS packages of work and moving it? I don't think so.

Na
I don’t get the point of this thread. Seems like he’s been the same since he was a kid. He seems like he respects the culture.

Now if you wanna call out a white who used rap to blow up then switched his identity then you need to look at Post Malone. :sas2:
Rap isn't a culture
Anyone can participate, and say the n word too if you're mexican
The top is ran by whites

It's a resource

The fact that we invite anyone to the cookout is why we stay losing
