Nah most artists been thinking quality over quantity ever since SGT Pepper was recorded...I'm not taking anything away from James Brown and his tremendous talent.
But it was a different time back then. Artists these days might make 30 songs for their album, but only 12 of them make the album. The rest might never see the light of day.
Back then I think they put most of whatever they recorded on albums.
