Their morning show sucks, TBC is way more entertaining than Ebro and Rosenberg.
Not just more entertaining, but when it was clear they didn't move with the direction NYC hip hop was headed in, the hating that Ebro and Rosenberg megaphoned on a daily basis only exacerbated that issue. Hot97 became less about being New York, and more about dripping poison into the ears of its listeners.

New York was in the midst of going through a new sound in the early 2010s and Ebro and Rosenberg were in direct opposition to that. Neither of them wanted to embrace anything that the newer generation was putting out (they created a lane out of it). They alienated themselves even more from a region that was already on life support, with their constant hating.

They were way behind curve of utilizing YouTube, wshh and social media to upload interview and clips because they didn’t know how to monetize content on the internet. By the time they figured it out tbc already lapped them.

I remember charlamagne saying years ago that he had to practically beg his executives to let interviews be upload to YouTube because that’s where all the traffic and views where coming from. Most execs were completely out of touch around that time.

I’ll never forgive Ebro for his role in killing NY hip hop.

Peter Rosenberg played a larger role in this that people will acknowledge....being an unlikeable CAC who happened to be extremely knowledgeable.

Him and Ebro were too blinded in their attempts at gatekeeping the culture, they ended up on the outside looking in.

Hot 97 legitimately survived Star crashing out 2 separate times...and them two dudes are the ones who did the station in.

Even back when TBC 1st started i remember catching all the interviews on their webpage a few hours after it aired while on Hot97 at times they'd never upload shyt for days or weeks

TBC was hip hops biggest thing 2015-2021. it took a lot of hot97 energy away but also hot has just been boring for a while. like NYC hip hop itself

also ebro wouldnt do the dumbshyt for clicks charla would and yeah he paid for it in less views
