lol. I actually created a natural hair group in my town. We meet once a month and we have a Facebook group where we discuss how to care for our hair. In addition to learning how to style their hair, during each meeting, we (the co-creator) also teach the ladies how to make their own products and the science behind our hair. There are more than 50 women in the group, and this does not include any of the undergradutes who have their own group.

I wish they had a groups like that here...eventually I plan on using my own hair and skin products only within the next year...

I've just begun trying my own products on my hair as well...too many chemicals are being put in our bodies...what are some of the herbs you use?

But the hair dressers are killing me here they actually charge more because I've never had a perm or relaxer and for my length...

yeah we do because it's usually super thick and takes twice as long to blowout\flatiron natural hair than it does to do a relaxed head. :manny: i do a case by cases thing. i do counsultations with clients first...i wanna feel\examine the hair. if your hair isn't ridiculously thick and not going take 3 times as long i won't ness. charge more.

That's understandable...but I feel like these women see me coming and just spit out the most absurd prices...my hair is thick and curly...but very fine and easy to straigten...its unfortunate but in the south they act like all non permed/relaxed hair is the same and its not.

I've gotten my hair done in 45 mins before...lol how much would you charge me?

Most of the ingredients I use are shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, aloe vera juice/gel, and essential oils like peppermint, lavender, and rosemary. My moisturizing creams are typically made using silicone free conditioners.

yeah you got that fine but thick 'dense' texture like me. my hair looks extremely intimdating when rock it out full fro. it LOOKS like a shytload of hair :merchant: ...but because the texture is so "fine" it's actually super easy to blow out and flatiron ...straightens easily as well. (one pass with the chi iron) i can usually knock it out in 30 mins.
i understand your hair completely so i wouldn't change any extra for a case like yours.

Your hair looks great. I have become obsessed with natural oils for my hair and body. My favorite is coconut oil and avacado oil.

edit: I bet Kenya don't go swimming tho. aint nobody fukking up that perm.

:beli: It's always something. First, you're baldhead/wearing Ming Lee's hair. Then I have no edges. Now I am afraid to go swimming because I am afraid to mess up a perm that I don't have.

The beauty of being natural is that you aren't afraid of water (esp when it's not straight...which mine is not 90% of the time). I swim, I don't run from sprinkles, and I also have sex in the shower without a cap on. What you got next? :youngsabo:
