they just look wild goofy to me on droid, like characters from a kids book. the apple ones just have a cleaner, more effective design IMO

...to begin with I don't think people would be claiming they didn't look clean enough or were goofy. They're just emojis.

That first set you posted looked goofy as hell, the second are just different, but regular emojis.

those are the google emojis if you're using google hangouts or other google web apps/email. maybe they have another set for phones or whatever but the ones attached to chrome/hangouts/gmail are basura

yea i would, maybe because i been on the net for a long time (smilies/emjoi's looked more like the apple ones way back in the day), i also had the emoji keyboard before apple bought it/integrated it so it might just be that that design benefits from first mover advantage, but those stupid duck lip, anime eye emojis look bad to me.

edit: apple emoji' are more angular, i think thats what it is, so it looks sharper

That's because andriod updated them years ago. I think those are from andriod marshmallow, people are on oreo now. (I like how andriod names their versions after food.)
