shyt is just weird. I know some would like to dismiss the numbers but even you account margin for error, it is still something to think about.Black men high incarceration rates...
Cacs have been very successful at keeping our population growth flat since the 1970s
i say this shyt all the time...but if you dispute this, you're pretty ignorant.
Blacks are DEFINITELY a minority in the USA. Its not even a joke.
I'm willing to best most of ya'll think blacks are just everywhere like that.
outside of major cities, there are not that many of us.
Yea, I got a homie that actually believes black people are the majority in the USA. I literally look at him like he's crazy because the only way he can think that is if he's basing his opinion on the major cities....in the Northeast and Southeast. Since he's spent his whole life in majority black urban environments I think that has warped his perception of who the larger population is in America.
No offense but your homie doesn't seem too bright.
I mean I grew up in Detroit (and didn't do a huge amount of travelling as a kid), and it was over 80% black (I think my high school was like 95% black), but I still didn't think that this was somehow representative of the whole country. And I don't know anybody who did..
It wasn't until I left the northeast during college and spent a few summers in Ohio when I realized the majority of America is white. I remember going to Kings Island amusement park and not seeing one other person of color. shyt had me
Some little white girl asked to take her picture with me....
And I think that's the thing. A lot of blacks grow up and live in areas that have a large concentration of black people-usually urban centers in the Northeast and Southeast. So, being from that environment and not traveling to other areas can cause someone to think that blacks make up a large percentage of the US population when that's not the case. Add to that the representation of blacks in mass media such as music, sports and entertainment and it can seem that black people are everywhere.
Also, some may say "well, I traveled alot as a kid." Yea but they traveled to other cities that mirrored their own. For example, someone living in NYC but traveling to see family in Philly, Atlanta and Chicago. Most likely, his relatives decided to live in places similar to his parents even if in different geographical locations.

I'd give black people like 15% MAXYea I wouldn't be surprised if the population is a few percentage points higher than the constant 13%, however blacks are nowhere near the majority in this country.
