How come no one ever talks about how important Puffy was to Biggie?

People have to remember, Biggie was a true student of Hip Hop. Diddy (And advice from Pac too) made sure he wasn't going to be boxed in and just be a street rapper. That's one great thing about Big's catalog, he really has music for all types of rap fans. But just remember, in 92-93 before Puff really got a hold of him, Biggie was spitting raw stuff like this unreleased track with Onyx or this track with MOP:

without puffy bigge would've been jadakiss after leaving badboy. dope mcee still alive pushing out the occasional gold record. heavily respected in the streets. killing other rappers on the guest verse and releasing countless mixtapes.

i'd woulda rather of have that then the dead biggie with just two and half albums we got now. imagine two decades worth of ready to die type records instead of the shiny suit era.

Without Puff, Biggie would have been just another great underground artist. Diddy helped Biggie polish his style and attain mainstream success. Biggie still would have been great talent without Puffy but his career and catalog would've been a whole lot more different. Again, without Puffy, Biggie would've never had that cross over appeal.
