How come no one ever talks about how important Puffy was to Biggie?

Without Puff, Biggie would have been just another great underground artist. Diddy helped Biggie polish his style and attain mainstream success. Biggie still would have been great talent without Puffy but his career and catalog would've been a whole lot more different. Again, without Puffy, Biggie would've never had that cross over appeal.

If Biggie had still been alive, he and Puff would've been like Birdman and Weezy. I dont kno if Cash Money would've had room to blow up if Bad Boy had still been a major force.

Sure they would've...artists that blow up (more often than not) are gonna blow up regardless of who else is out there. No Limit was able to blow up when BIG and Pac were around, and Master P was one of the most non-rappin' nikkas ever... so Cash Money would've done the same either way.

But back on topic, yeah, people underestimate what Puff's influence did for BIG's career. He didn't make BIG a talent, but I do think his constant urging of BIG to make hits challenged BIG more and made him a more versatile artist. If he had been working with someone who just let him rap and didn't push for him to do anything but that, I don't think he would have grown as much as he did as an artist.

Yes, Diddy was Quincy and Biggie was Michael. Everyone knows this. But Michael is still Michael and Biggie was still Biggie. Big's talent is what drives his legacy. But I do appreciate Puff for helping Big make the transition. People may love the raw and uncut Biggie more and that Biggie is Hip Hop has it's purist form. But Polished Biggie on "Life After Death" was more lyrical, more seasoned and the songs came out really good. This is why "Life After Death" replay value is at an all time high. A lot of those polished Biggie songs still sound good in this era. "Ready To Die" does have a certain sound that represents the early 90's Hip Hop. That's what makes Biggie's catalog kinda dope, he dropped 2 Classics for 2 Era's of Hip hop. "RTD" for old school fans and LAD for new school.

:pachaha: because Diddy broke off a friendship between two talented men and indirectly/directly profited off the death of one of them.
