I'd disagree. If you drive past the beauty supply store in the nearest majority Black neighborhood, the posters covering the front will reflect that same standard of beauty. Wig and weave advertisements.To negroes of american descent, no....they are not that desirable. But that is only because, since the beginnings of the civil rights movement, our culture has been training us to rebuke whiteness.
But to everyone else, yes they are. And I didn't read the title of the thread as just athletes/celebs. I was referring to whites in general.
The standard of beauty is still white skin, blond hair, blue eyes.
Jamaicans and Nigerians are bleaching their skin to meet those standards.
Asians are cutting their eyelids to meet those standards.
