Television rights for the longstanding Army–Navy Game, which is the last regular season game in the NCAA, serve as a significant revenue source for the programs.

it will never ever change

and no they would not get locked out of a bcs bowl if that were to happen, wyomng coach almost lost his job this year for saying air force was faking injuries

How wouldthey not be locked out if yesterday was the final BCS standings? :dwillhuh: That's all I wanna know. They gonna keep it on hold?

Service academies will never be any good so this is a hypothetical that will never come to fruition.

They would have an exception to the rule

Like I said service academies are held in high regard Wyoming coach almost lost his job, the alumni have clout, Brian Kelly almost got in trouble this year for running up the score on navy

supposedly there is an exception, but in the way you're thinking:

Army-Navy game won't play into final BCS standings - USATODAY.com

from 2010
The Bowl Championship Series likes to say "Every Game Counts" in the race for its college football national title, even calling its Twitter account by that name.

Every game, that is, except Army-Navy.

The annual military academy showdown will be played Dec. 11, the Saturday after the final BCS standings are determined. This is the second year the game has been played after the bowl pairings as part of a deal with CBS.

What many don't realize, however, is a policy was established by the BCS commissioners last year eliminating that game from the BCS formula. Part of the reasoning, according to BCS executive director Bill Hancock, was the potential impact the game could have on the pairings for the BCS title game.

Every game counts in the rankings but that one.

Imagine if one these teams came in undefeated or with 1 loss coming into that game. #fukkery :ohlawd:

Airforce is the only one who could have a chance at that and they got them on the back burner because they are a young service.

You don't think Navy could pull off a run one of these years? :usure: They've been decent for a while now.

No. I don't think they can pull it off 9-3/8-4 is there ceiling. Cats forget they can't recruit the same caliber of player. Because of well lets be honest ain't no hoes compared to the other schools. You have to want to go to the academy.

Navy is better than Air Force

He'll navy had a heisman candidate in Ricky Dobbs a few years ago.

Navy going to the big east should help recruiting

Some ignant nikkas out there need that discipline

You don't know how hard it is to get accepted to the US Naval Academy. It has an acceptance rate of 7%. And you have to pass a multitude of tests, be unmarried and have no kids. :whew:

Didn't they use to play the last weekend like everyone else?

What if one of them actually has a good season again, like NIU did this year, do they get locked out of a BCS bowl since their season wouldn't have finished yet? :mjpls:

Students go to the US Military Academy and Naval Academy for education first and foremost. Sports are second, unlike other schools who "say" academics come first. So, playing this game goes back a long time in their history, bragging rights and all. And the outcome didn't matter since they both weren't even good enough compared to other Div I schools. You'll need to go into the NCAA history books and see that their football records were flabby and sick. Things are a bit different now so I can see what you are saying.
