Russell Peters exemplifies the best of growing up in Toronto. Most American comedians touch on race like no others can but Russell touched on cultures in a way that only someone that grows up in a city like New York or Toronto that is a melting pot could... beyond race. he was always self aware in his stand up. Mindy always came off as someone who died for white acceptance, most of her comedy is based around her having this tragic while girl syndrome while trapped in brown skin. she's tolerable in a likeable fool type of way.

This is the type of talk that got Apu canceled. The fact of the matter is that these stereotypes do exist and they usually aren't portrayed as harmful. Apu was probably one of the better morally centered characters on the Simpsons. His biggest "flaw" was having an accent. Are they going to get rid of that redneck character, Cletus too?

Do these south Asian comedians spread stereotypes about a lot of the males being involved in mass rapes, killing of rape victims, entire countries participating in the scam economy or the totally unsanitary conditions they find themselves in?

Indians for example are often portrayed as awkward but overall successful nerds. The harmful stereotype argument would be a lot more valid if there was segments where these south east Asians were riffing about the "plese send bobs" segment of their society.

A bunch of Indian folks had a problem with him being stereotypical and I have heard many instances in real life of people calling Indian people folks "Apu" &"Habib." So I get it. Lets not act like there weren't plenty of episodes where they clowned Indian culture too. Apu is not something worth fighting to keep.

Cacs done and said racist shyt to me behind my back, when they do it in public I got arsenals full of insults to throw back. And if they get offended The lord gave me these big ass heavy hands. To put to work.
For example a cac at my old warehouse job back when chappelle show was popping was always talking sideways i always insulted him smartly (he was italian i called him a Moor and my brother, peace brother etc etc) one day he felt confortable saying nikka around quoting chapelle and negrodamus not even directly at me and i pulled him to the side of the break room and open handed slapped him in front of some other cacs. Russell clowns every group of Asians, Arabs etc. plus white people.

Dude literally just imitates his pops....and that's what his pops sounded like. He doesn't really stereotype Indians but does show the difference between fobs, Indians born in India that are split between cultures and straight up ABCD type Indians that can't even speak the mother languages.
