Do you even need to imagine him in the Coli era to wonder? Cause those criticisms of today's player extend beyond these 2 forums to writers, bloggers and general basketball (some of it is valid, some of it is unfair)

What was the press saying about him back in the 80s? Or fans of other teams? Cause even Magic and MJ had their share of criticsm during that era (Magic after the 84 finals and MJ during the pre-title days). But you're right I've never really heard a heap of critiscim for not winning for not winning anything.

To me that's the comparison. Not Vince. Melo stay getting roasted on here for being flabby, a ball stopper, and all kinds of stupid ass shyt. But DWade who ain't did shyt worth a damn since 2010 ECF goes overlooked as being some shyt right now. Melo will drop 40 on a nikka without blinking and have nikkas like :dwillhuh: . But he stays getting shyt on. I hate that.

Took the words out my mouth, excluding that Wade bit. Wade can still drop a ton of points but he really doesn't have to. As 2012 tho, I'd take Melo over Wade without blinking

I'd say Melo only catches hate because he plays for the Knicks.

I don't knock his success or lack of it because I don't feel he's on the level of Bron, Kobe and Durant.

lost to the pistons as a 2 seed

lost to the pacers as a 1 seed.

try again.

Name his second best player during his prime.

the 94 Hawks traded nique for danny manning so he wasn't there against indiana in the playoffs

Nique always gave 100 percent and was the second best dunker of all time.. he was clutch as hell and stayed in great battles ..epic battles with Jordan and bird.. when your other best players are spud Webb and Doc Rivers , it should Shine a bigger light on how great Dominique was.

Few NBA stars have went toe to toe with some of the best players currently today.. Melo wasn't spectacular against bron.. Kd was efficient but nothing that made you :krs: rondo is probly the only one.. Nique did And held his own damn near every time

In any case nique in todays game put up atleast 25 while doing Blake Griffin dunks from the perimeter.. A superstar

I'd say that Nique has indeed taken his share of lumps historically...he's not really placed in that pantheon of truly elite players...he's seen as just a scorer that couldn't win...VC would prolly be seen as something of the modern day Nique, but he fell off even individually (nique was dropping 29 a game for the Clips at the age of 34...vince has been a journeyman role player for like 4 seasons now)...not even accounting for his lack of team success...now if Melo were to never win or make a finals run or two, he'll prolly be seen as something approaching Nique's legacy when it's all said and done
