Theres this odd generational disconnect where people my age have no idea how big Bone Thugs were at one point. I don’t think anyone born after 97 even really knows who they are if I’m keeping it a buck.

People know or have heard of Wu Tang, Snoop, NWA, Biggie. Even Triple Six Mafia but not Bone Thugs.

Only reason I know about them is because my older brother used to be a massive fan and he explained how they used to be idols for teenagers and they used to dress like them and shyt. Hes always put me onto music.

I was :ohhh: when he showed me pictures of his friends and I saw how many records they sold in the 90s.

Their shyt is actually piff and hasnt aged badly to me. Has a similar sound that underground soundcloud demonic shyt that I and many others love. Them flows and production can be heard today.

Da Introduction, Buddah Lovers and Ecstacy all :wow:

i get what you mean, but i think asap yams tried to shine light on bones legacy
asap mob is like bone thugs x dipset fused together

i was never really much into bone thugs myself but i think people always saw them as "the group eazy e helped push and the guys that made cross roads, thuggish ruggish and 1st of the month"

Asap Yams tried to shine a light on a lot of things and people give him credit because hes dead and its trendy but I wish he’d get more props for his knowledge of culture.

He knew a fukk load about sometimes obscure and regional rap at a time when it wasnt always as accesible.

It's been a while since Bone has had any type of a huge resurgence, that's why
Kray singing the hook on Ridin' Dirty was a decade ago --- that more so Krazyie's solo success but it still connects back to Bone
ASAP kind of bought them back into the fold among a new generation of fans

But how many groups are still that relevant that are peers of Bone tho?
Wu to an extent but it ain't like Wu putting out great shyt right now either. Wu just has just more hyped project in recent years than Bone.
I think all in all, Bone doing aight considering they been in the game for 20 plus years. They still tour and probably do ok.

The Other Side of Da Game
Even tho they are better lyricist other groups may have put out more classic albums

All the old rappers are not relevant except online what is the difference?

They are no more irrelevant than any other rappers in their generation.
They are legends, the rap equivalent of The Temptations to me, if you grew up at the time you know this, if you are too young to know it, its cool, but if you ever look at the history of the game their legacy can't be denied.
