How and when did you get into boxing?

Tyson is who turned me into hardcore fan and had me watching Tuesday night fights on USA network

But prior to that my dad was a boxing fanatic and had me in the gym, so it's always been part of my life

My Dad and Grandad took me to watch Leonard vs Hagler closed circuit. But I didn't actually start fully following till like '89-90. I got to witness some incredible sh*t live

Born in 85. Grew up on Tyson. When I was about 10-11 Spent a summer in St. Pete. FLorida with my dad's side, they had cable and HBO and my cousin hipped me to Pernell Whitaker and Roy Jones. The rest is history. Been a fan and following boxing ever since. I even boxed a lil at the Boys Club after that.

Pops was a big boxing fan. We watched everything late 80's boxing related. HBO boxing ABC boxing, Olympic boxing. He took me to the bars to watch the closed circuit joints when I was a little kid.

Every since I can remember but I'll say 7 1/2 in 97. When I heard Tyson bit off the ear of Holyfield I was like then celebrity death match poked fun at it. Of course I'm a roy stan but that dq loss

Watching fights I don't even know who tf they were at the time on HBO. Shadowboxing to docs/film of Ali tryna dance fluidly.

Pops was a pro. Actually got up to number 5 in the world light heavyweight in the mid 80's, to this day tells me Saad didn't want to fight him. Use to go with him to King's Gym (SOG stompin grounds) every day and watch him train.. Always was watching fights. Holyfield V Dokes, Pinklon Thomas, Edwin Rosario, Michael Carbajal, Marlon Sterling, Michael Nunn and others. Did some amateur boxing after college, would have stuck with it but I had to work and shyt. Its fun to go back and watch, all the older fighters get down. Remember pops sparring with David Vedder before he got a name, Also pops was in George Foreman's camp before he fought Evander, actually got to ring walk with him.

My father is a huge fan. I got hooked watching Tyson put the beats on Spinks. My family isn't close and it was said that we all only got together for two reasons, boxing and funerals. That allure was big on a young iceberg.
