I feel like the fact that I never saw 16 Candles or St. Elmo's Fire permanently disqualifies me from actually having been a part of '80s culture. Whenever people talk about those movies or whatever that group of actors were who did them I have no context whatsoever for what they're saying.

The only movies on that longer list that I remember seeing in childhood (as opposed to watching them 20 years later) were The Goonies, E.T., Gremlins, Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon, Aliens, Terminator, Die Hard, The Karate Kid, Ghostbusters, and Stand By Me.
