The Minnesota Twins franchise have been to 6 World Series.
Five of the six went the full seven games.

  1. 1924 (as the Washington Senators) -- Won vs the New York Giants 4-3
  2. 1925 (as the Washington Senators) -- Lost vs the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-4
  3. 1933 (as the Washington Senators) -- Lost vs the New York Giants 1-4
  4. 1965 -- Lost vs the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-4
  5. 1987 -- Won vs the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3
  6. 1991 -- Won vs the Atlanta Braves 4-3

The Cardinals called up Jordan Walker again.
Before you think he's suddenly figured out how to elevate the baseball, he hasn't.

The fact is that while the Cardinals had a logjam of outfielders (and Walker's natural position is blocked by Arenado at 3B), none of the Cardinals outfielders have amounted to anything over the first 2 months of the season.

Nootbar was solid but he's on the IL.
Tyler O'Neill has been a massive disappointment and he's on the IL.
Alec Burleson and Dylan Carlson are terrible.
Juan Yepez is a strikeout machine.

The Cardinals are in a position where there's nothing to lose by hoping Walker figures it out with the Major League club.

The miracle here is that St. Louis is still only 5.5 games out of 1st place in the NL Central and there's still a good chance they can get to the Wild Card.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but Jason Heyward looks like he's having a very good season.

.238/.352/.486 for an OPS of .838

He's hitting the ball harder and he's not chasing as many bad pitches.
If I were Brian Cashman I'd be calling about this guy immediately. NYY needs help and Heyward is left handed..

It's over. It's really over. :mjcry:

I remember Strasmas like it was yesterday...never thought I'd see the DMV so hyped for baseball, but that day was friggin' electric.

At least he got paid before his arm fell off. Matt Harvey never got a real contact before his injuries.

In recent memory, yes. All time? Hard to say.

But early on he lived up to the hype. He was as dominant as people thought he would be.
