McClanahan got pulled early in a weird way. Rays started warming someone up after he got one out in the 4th. He got the 2nd out then the coach came out with the trainer and pulled him out of the game. They got a guy warming up so it if it was injury related, I dont know why they let him face another batter.

Either way, we dont need more pitchers being injured. Based God, protect these Aces

I just realized Franco has the best WAR in baseball. What a joke. :heh:

Franco's WAR value is driven by his defense, which has been good.

I think the broad view is that in the National League, the MVP frontrunners are Acuna and Carroll.

In the American League, it's pretty clearly Ohtani. There is a case for Bichette, if you don't want to double-count Ohtani's pitching stats with his hitting stats, though I think the only real threat to Ohtani's MVP campaign is Aaron Judge if he returns and remains hot.

While I don't think the voters will actually give it to him, Fernando Tatis Jr could wind up having an MVP season at the end of this -- even with him missing games because of suspension. He's probably going to lead the NL in WAR even with the missed games.

It remains to be seen if he can sustain it for an entire season but I'm surprised at how well Eddie Rosario is hitting right now.
Dude is hitting the ball harder than ever before. At age 31. It's suspicious. For now, anyway.

Luis Arraez is a Punch & Judy hitter.

The hype is because he might hit .400 (I'm going to say he won't)

But he's not making hard contact. He just doesn't move the needle like that.
I do think his contact skills are good. And he can hit around .300 the rest of the year and beyond.

Eventually that BABIP has to normalize. It might not happen this season. Maybe he does hit .400. Players have, in some years, maintained high BABIPs for an entire season. I just don't think we're looking at Tony Gwynn here.
