I've been to Eddie V's(been before), BlackFinn Grill(cool lil midtown spot right across from Mr. Peeples), Sullivans(decent steak), and Churrasco's(nice ambience, food was ok) so far. Wednesday I have reservations at Brenners Steakhouse(1st time) and Oceannaire on Friday(been before). And Sylvia's sometime next week.

Will have to fit in Vic and Anthonys, Dantons, others will just be picked at random.

Anyone ever had brunch at Mr. Peeples or recommend one of the brunch spots on the list?

Nvm I see the list posted above.

Mr Peeples is pretty good. went to a few event there and have always been impressed with the food. I'm doing a bunch of other restaurants this week, including Del Frisco's, Mr. Peeples, Kileen's.

Churascos is one of the best restaurants in town. Stop ya boomboclot blaspheming

I just came from Au Petit Paris, excellent. I have been to all the bolded either restaurants weeks or just because.

I was not impressed with Sullivan's at all. Some places are just better to eat off the regular menu, maybe they are one of them. I haven't been the brunch at Mr. Peeples yet but what I have had was really good. I have had brunch at Danton's before it was just ok, regular service was good.

I've had dinner at Peeples which was nothing to rave about but I'd go back, so I'll give their brunch a try. I'm weary of Killeens because its more of a restaurant than a pit and regardless of what Ronnie says I know he doesn't man those pits.

I'm not a fan of the charred flavor of Churrascos.

I'll add Au Petit Paris to my list, what did you have? Sullivans was ok but they probably wouldn't make my top 10 steakhouses in Houston though.

I had the lobster bisque, Chilean sea bass, and chocolate cake. I would say put Fish and the Knife on the list...but the service was bad. If you do go don't get the chicken stuffed with crawfish. The salmon was good from RW's. I also tasted the blue crab beignets :noah: and some of the lamb off regular menu.

My steak at Sullivans wasn't bad. The shrimp was severely over cooked and something else was bad.

Thanks for those tips. I find Eddie V's menu very limited, I'll only go if someone else wants to go now. But there Salmon is really good, last time I had a steak(filet mignon) and it wasn't all that good.

Blackfinn Ameripub was a nice lil spot hidden away in midtown. Lady said its been there 2 years and I'd never noticed it. Right down the sidewalk from Christians Tailgate and across the street from Mr. Peeples. I had the spinach artichoke dip, ceaser salad, and steak(NY Strip). Food was good, nice place to hang with coworkers or friends, wouldn't recommend as a date spot.

Churrascos is more a date spot and has a good ambience. I had chicken empanada, Cerdo Marinero, and tres leches, I also tasted their signature steak and bacon wrapped filets, everything(main entrees) was charred, guess thats their thing, I didn't care for it though. Tresh leches was delicious though.

I'll report back on the others.

It was the bisque had this hand made chicken stuff ravioli in it. I was expecting it to be kind of sweet because it was lobster. It was so savory and creamy. My brother had, what reminded me of gourmet deconstructed pb&j instead of the chocolate cake. I tasted some, the creme was light as air and silky, berry sauce fresh. The service was really good too.

I went for a birthday Friday. The food was good except for what I said. I actually ended up not paying for anything because of the service was soo bad. It was crazy. The lounge was cool, but it was so packed and bar was super packed drinks over priced. Nice ambiance. I can't tell if the pros out weigh the cons.

You are welcome and thanks for your tips as well. I need to go to Black fin.

My girlfriend, who is now my wife took me to Eddie V's in City Centre when I first got out of the Navy. Wasn't bad. :ehh: I prefer Bonefish Grill.

Headed to San Antonio tomorrow for a few days with my daughter and wife. I'm 29. Hadn't been since I was 14.

I went to San Antonio for the first time in 15 years last summer. Took my daughter out to SeaWorld, WNBA game, and explore downtown(riverwalk(did the boat tour), alamo, ripleys etc..) I didn't really have any expectations for the trip since it was primarily for her but I thoroughly enjoyed the visit myself. SeaWorld(we did both parks) has really improved from 15 years ago which is probably a given. We also enjoyed the downtown activities as well.
