When the police shoot and kill people, and the only information comes from the police report, I automatically assume the police are lying about the circumstances.

I know it's unfair and shortsighted, but I cannot trust them.

The police report should not be taken as 100% fact their word should not automatically hold more weight than any citizen.

The training for these officers must be awful. Their needs to be higher pay and tougher barriers to entry to be a police officer also psych evaluations should be absolutely necessary...but since it all depends on local municipalities standards are going to vary
