Hmm...interesting. Care to explain? I wanna hear this...just cause as a DJ and a producer I'm always interested in the history of house in NYC and on a global scale.

there's been a battle on whether House music started in NYC or Chicago. Considering both cities used the "Philidelphia sound" of disco to start house music, one could say it started in Philly, but it definitely caught fire in NYC and Chi-town.

Love is the Message "NY version" kept looping part of the song which basically the origin of house music.

I mean...Philadelphia really had a popping ass sound which fathered house music. NY sampled it....it spread.

I know the hood in NYC was really into house music until the early 90s when it started to somewhat fade....

Yeah...and it all started amongst THE BLACK COMMUNITY! Which seems to be forgotten nowadays...which is why I hate when heads refer to anything with a house beat as "that Euro shyt". Newsflash to them, without disco and that Philly sound getting love into Europe...that shyt would never be popular them. And those NYC/Chicago/Detroit producers get mad love over there...sometimes more than in their own hometowns!

I don't what it is...but the older I get, I just enjoy house, techno, more than anything else.

I was watching that video of DJ Mustard getting slapped by Mister Fab in the Booth, and I had to SMH...that's why I don't enjoy hip-hop as much anymore...too much negativity, too much focus on everything outside of the music...with that Chicago drill music all of the killing attached to it. I ha eto say it, but other than some of the music, I have officially divorced hip-hop in it's current state.

Now when I go to the club to hear house..it's nothing but unity and community. Everybody's having a good time...the crowd is diverse...you got blacks, whites, asians, latins, indians...gays, straights, punks, skaters, fashionistas, etc...enjoying the groove. No drama, no bad vibes. This is my house, this is our house, and I live here.
I'm RIGHT there with you.

Most times I don't even find myself following rap that much since those dudes ain't really telling me much these days. I'm more educated than the average rapper (lets be honest, i am and you are as well) so we're just listening for the fukkery at this point. What CAN they tell me?
