I don't what it is...but the older I get, I just enjoy house, techno, more than anything else.

I was watching that video of DJ Mustard getting slapped by Mister Fab in the Booth, and I had to SMH...that's why I don't enjoy hip-hop as much anymore...too much negativity, too much focus on everything outside of the music...with that Chicago drill music all of the killing attached to it. I ha eto say it, but other than some of the music, I have officially divorced hip-hop in it's current state.

Now when I go to the club to hear house..it's nothing but unity and community. Everybody's having a good time...the crowd is diverse...you got blacks, whites, asians, latins, indians...gays, straights, punks, skaters, fashionistas, etc...enjoying the groove. No drama, no bad vibes. This is my house, this is our house, and I live here.

Listening to a Skream Boiler Room set and Im feeling right.

I just wish we had/I knew where these "real" House club nights are at in New England, I could always pony up the $100 plus to travel to NYC for a great night but Im trying to get rid of this CC debt.

The known spots (Webster) mostly just host whatever "EDM" FoTM is coming through, but I'll admit I cant resist a good Hardwell set.

Im not sorry for my pleb taste.:mj: *pops a benzo knowing he has work in 3 hours.*

The more I listen to house and techno (stuff from the 80s to now...that proper stuff) the less I can stomach that "EDM" crap. It all sounds the same (same buildups, breakdowns, effects, stock sounds, samples, etc) and seems so soulless to me. And the festival scene...:scusthov:

It's all about "PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR!!!" "MAKE SOME F*CKING NOISE!" "EVERYBODY JUMP!!!!!!":heh:

DJs with their arms stretched out doing that stereotypical pose behind the tables. Candi kids...girls with annoying furry boots on wearing next to nothing...bros trying to start mosh pits...everybody being an e-tard with their "Party with Sluts" and "Mary. Molly. Lucy" t-shirts...

Just give me some classic soulful house like this...maybe some classy female vocals (I don't like it when it gets too divaish though)..and I'm good

I hear the future of humanity in that music...that universal soul. There's a reason that house music is popular worldwide...no language barrier...just groove.

I feel you on that "EDM" scene, its just seems so forced and liek some marketing team is behind it.

Me personally If Im going to a venue where a DJ is playing Electro House/Main Room House, Im just their to dance the night away and relieve some stress.

I should start looking into more underground shows in NYC instead of the ones in Manhattan.

I used to love house music. So did the entire hood....then Madonna came out with Vogue and a certain people were let in and we were like "nahhhh....not anymore."

:heh:

Hmm...interesting. Care to explain? I wanna hear this...just cause as a DJ and a producer I'm always interested in the history of house in NYC and on a global scale.
