The reason I particularised And1 is partially because they toured. They were able to nationalize themselves in a way EBC/Rucker wasn't able to. Truth be told I think they were able to feed each other, both benefiting from one another.

I’m torn. I initially agreed with you. But, I don’t think they had the longevity to make it in the hall. That run they had from 2003-2006 was something else though. They were filling out actual arenas and had a damn video game. They were probably the driving inspiration for a shyt ton of current NBA stars, the guys around Harden’s age.

Harden actually takes ball handling tips from the professor. there is a video on it on youtube.

Eh. I wouldn’t go that far. Yeah, it make pickup games kind of shytty for a while, but i think it did a great job of expanding interest in the game of basketball and showing that that there was a “commercial” lane for this kind of ball. How many hoopers got to continue hooping and making money as an indirect result of these guys going on world tours and doing tricks?

I feel like I remember at one point, one of the networks was actually broadcasting EBC games in the summer on Friday nights. Either that or I went seeking them out online, but streaming video didn't exist at that point.
