Not everyone wants people spying on their daily lives. The ratings on TV aren't to see how many people are watching but for which demographic is watching so that the networks can focus advertising on that. Advertising is the bottom line. I don't like how they have a monopoly on the business but there's nothing wrong with what they do. Polling is the best way because spying on everyone is out of the question. You can sign up for Nielsen if you want, they'll even pay youI wouldn't mind at all
Atleast some of these good shows that are getting cancelled every year would last if they knew exactly how many people was watching it instead of going of a small sample size of viewers is watching
When you think about it how fukking dumb is it to try and guess how many people are watching a show by using what 1000 people are watching and the US population is over 300 mill
That's why you see shows that they claim had a million or so viewers get cancelled then 20 million people sign a petition online to bring the show back
Now if the show only had a million viewers where the other 19 mill come from?
That's why I never pay attention to ratings,shyt is straight bullshyt
