i think he just meant like whats a helpful video. ive been watching FL Studio tutorials for months and only like 1/4 are helpful

Videos never helped me unless it as about mixing. After a year of producing when I first started, I didn't need videos anymore. Videos are really unnesscary for me and people probably don't have to watch them unless you need to see a specific process.

Nothing
time out,

How is FL studio (the fukking power-horse behind alot of top 40's) trash ass software?

what people don't understand is, tool's don't make the producer. the tool's give greater ability to express one's talents. You can be the best house builder in the world, but if you using a rock and stick to build a house, it's not going to help promote your talents like a hammer and proper tools will.

also, alot of producers (like OP) claiming FL is trash is the same producers who think downloading a drum kit that's labeled "MikeWillMadeIt Drum Kit" will automatically have them sounding like MikeWillMadeIt when it doesn't. alot of producers use FL ONLY to put structure to the beat idea, then they port their projects into a stronger DAW (Like Pro Tools or Logic) to scrub and tweak sounds.

To say FL is "trash ass software" says more about your understanding of producing via DAW's rather than the DAW you're shytting on.

fukk up out of here.

I'm starting to learn Ableton today. Seems like it can do A LOT more than FL actually but it's complex.

yeah i want to check ableton out again, i tried once but it was pretty confusing so i went back to FL. after watching some tutorial videos on how to do 'this or that style' beat, i learned alot more about the functionality of the software. im trying to learn how to use slicex for chopping and replaying samples though, instead of edison/FPC

aint been on the beats for a minute tho cus i been working on video projects, but i wanna get back on it

I'm already back on FL. I simply like the FPC better than those drumracks in Ableton. You have to put everything in a chain and a lot of stuff is just way too time consuming for what i want to do.
In FL everything is so much easier and faster i think. Only thing i think Ableton be better for is using Audio but i do almost everything by MIDI.

I wanted to get Ableton cause of the warping function for samples and use Push 2 but i'm not gonna use it. What i kinda hated about the automation in FL's "Edit Events" is that it stays at the value it ends into the next pattern. This is something Ableton doesn't have. Or i'm simply doing something wrong in FL???

Just bought jBridge to use 32 bit plugins in Ableton which is now $15 spend for nothing.

Does anyone have any tutorials they'd recommend ?
I took a step back from learning how to produce and make beats
for the thousandth time and life got in the way. That and I started putting
even more time into my guitar playing which also had to take the backseat.

I'm finding myself with free time again and I'm looking to go hard with the
beat making.
