Basically this.

That last post greatly summarizes it all: yeah, nice "economy numbers" but actually a decent quality of life is a struggle for most people to attain/maintain.

That's the reality of it.

I noted that last reply, but most replies to Marc and the first post echo the same sentiment very well.

So while Hong Kong kicked a bunch of ass "economically" for decades, it's citizens were really feeling the struggle.
The same thing is happening right now but in America and it just started.
We aren't numbers on a piece of paper but that's what we are to some people.

Yeah and what did that achieve as opposed to what the French achieved

It’s called a starting point, the French Revolution occurred over a decade. That shyt didn’t just happen in a vacuum.

Now will we finally reach our tipping point and get our memorial Ron Desantis handkerchiefs? Who knows? :yeshrug:

It sounds like the article is basically saying after all the covid era programs ended the people that are now homeless got screwed and the number dramatically increased. We really should have the ability to house and feed all people but socialism. :damn:

The real crux is that people expected those programs to last forever and spent that new money like they were truly in a higher tax bracket and didn't save. Funemployment, child tax credits, ppp fraud, WFH, 2020-2021 was a great time to make that climb.

Now, it's all over and now people are claiming poverty.

Very true although I believe most of these things should be permanent. You have to be smart and plan for the future.

It's wild . They could give each American like 2 million a piece to live but would Rather send 3x that to Ukraine. Makes no sense at all

In actuality sort of does. Paying Ukraine to cripple a long time adversary instead of precious US soldiers who they are having trouble retaining and recruiting.

If not one percent of people are homeless.. I gotta lean towards It mostly being mental health or drugs.. the people that are homeless from just being jobless must be nearly inexistent
Yea but you can’t literally look at ppl as numbers. Yea, technically less than 1% of Americans (pop. of ~350mill) being homeless doesn’t sound bad, but we are talking about human beings. The goal should be no homelessness if we are a nation that actually cares about human life.

Stack the 37% of homeless that are free on top of the prison population and you’re more than just correct about that :mjcry:
Very underrated contribution.

It's only gonna get worse and worse as it becomes harder and harder to survive. Rich are stacking resources faster than the poor right now, a poor person in the future is gonna have a harder time than now.
Spooky. No time to fukk around then
