Steph would have the nba in complete shambles if he demanded a trade before FA starts… All 28 teams would be literally scrambling to put packages together to get dude… Honestly Steph should announce it for the fukkery and put GS in a fukkkn bind and then pull back his offer to show that it is he who built this shyt and it is him who can send the organization back to the gulag
That would b a boss move
So no one suppose to call out the FO for literally doing nothing for the past 3 years in FA?
Last 5 years. Since the 2018 offseason, they’ve literally missed on picks and player acquisitions.
In 2019 we were playing Quinn cook and Alfonzo McKinnie in the finals
I don’t even know wtf the Warriors we’re doing in 2020. Let’s say Steph doesn’t break his hand, wtf was the plan? They wasted assets on Glen Robinson III and Omari spellman and Marquese Chriss and Willie cauleystein (all guys who are out the league). Then had Dragan Bender and mychal Mulder out there. And to top it all off, they are so bad they get the #2 pick and use it on James Wiseman
2021 they threw the whole season away trying to develop their bust (who isn’t even on the team anymore) and wasted an all-time Steph season. Actually it was an all time season period. They used their TPMLE on Kelly Oubre (which was 60 million in Luxury tax additionally) and signed Brad Wannamaker. That was Myers’ offseason. Signing and drafting 3 of the biggest reasons why the warriors couldn’t make the playoffs. They only started to be better once Wiseman, Oubre, and Wannamaker weren’t playing.
2022 they actually win the title, and the first thing Kerr and the ownership group talk about was how they were talking, and decided that the team wasn’t good enough to win a chip. They were completely surprised. This means since KD left in 2019, this FO has been unable to create a contending roster around a top 10 player of all time (and an all-time core). They stumbled into a chip because Steph is an all time great
2022 the fail miserably once again and fail to replace the production they had in Bjelica, Otto, and GP2. They once again play wiseman even though there is significant data that the warriors are one of the worst teams in the league very time he sets foot on the court. They let GP2 walk for him and it got so bad, that they traded Wiseman at the deadline to get GP2 back (horrendous asset management once again). They give Poole a ridiculously bloated contract, hamstringing them even more (side note: I don’t care if Draymond was fukking Poole’s mother, you don’t give a 6th man that much money when you don’t have to. Especially when they 6th man only does one thing and doesn’t affect the game in any way outside of trying to score the ball. No competent GM does that). They play Sacramento in R1 and only win game 7 because Steph puts up a historic performance and saves the team for the millionth time. Ofc they lose in R2 because of their terrible roster construction.
It’s now the 2023 offseason and the warriors should make significant moves before the CBA rules hit on July 1. Instead, these clowns sit on their asses and do nothing like they always do every year and fail to address the obvious flaws with the roster.
No team in the league has to try to contend with a FO this inept but Steph. If they blow this offseason, they will have officially blown FIVE OF THE LAST 6 OFFSEASONS. They’re legit just coasting on what Larry Riley and Jerry West built over a decade ago. One of the first things the Lacob regime did was put Steph on the trade block. But they just got lucky when Milwaukee chose Monta. The next thing they did was put Klay on the trade block, but Jerry west threatened to quit, saving them again.
