who the fukk are you and why is this thread embarrassing? go troll the million brain dead TLR topics that get posted each day or the pointless random opinion news that gets posted in here all the time

 Have you read the posts? The fact that half the posters are bragging about being in the top 1% is embarrassing enough, but the fact that you were so blown away by it is equally as sad

that's cause you're interested in being unimpressed about it when I was just following through with the instructions and found the twist cray. Many people in here and elsewhere I shared it with found it impressive too. It's the best thing I've seen on the internetz in a while

Look, it's not that I'm seeking to downplay it, but it's very easy to dismiss once you can recognize the tricks it employs. I do happen to be a skeptic, which is why I guess I'm more familiar with some of these things, but they can be explained rather easily. The fact that you and others are impressed by it is no more odd than people being impressed with John Edwards "communicating" with the dead on his show Crossing Over. It's no different than people being amazed with how accurate Miss Cleo, or palm readers can be. It's no different than Uri Geller "knowing" what picture someone draws. There are tons of illusions that can be employed, and people have been conning each other since the beginning of time. This just has many of those same elements on one website.

Look up some stuff with James Randi, listen to Penn and Teller and other magicians. They thoroughly discuss these deceptive acts, and how they implement them in their shows.

I know it's a "trick". But that's not the point. That's like saying you'll never pick a card out of a deck someone wants to predict cause you know there's a trick to it

This whole thing reminds me of this game I discovered years ago where you would play a spy, and receive phone calls and missions in real life. I always wondered who could have the time for something like that, but it was a really interesting concept to me. I wish I could remember the name of that thing... but I digress.

Well then, what's so :mindblown: about your link?

Vague character descriptions that all apply to 90% of people.
Brown-nosing by telling participants they are in the top X percentile in the world.
Basic logically reasoning games that you don't even have to get right to continue.
Picture tests where we KNOW most people draw basic things like a house or stick figure... If you draw something more complex, the program can't figure it out.

This is really the most amazing thing you've seen on the interwebs? I've been more impressed by Akinator than this thing.

I took its word that it was psychological priming on the drawing thing. Now that we know it's using image recognition it's a bit of a let down but still very fun to do
