I've watched 2 episodes and it's pretty good.

Sheldon is a fukkin monster in it so far. Stereotypical Hollywood predator.

Lots of gay shyt, to be expected from Ryan Murphy, but I can respect him using his art to present this kind of story.

Good focus on how fukked up Hollywood is, the deviant behavior, racism, how careers get destroyed and how they get made and it's only 2 episodes down. If you can get over the fact that there will be a lot of gay shyt going on, you'll probably enjoy it.

I tried...i tried... it looks like a really good story and plot and i was into it at the beginning when he 1st found out bout what he was gonna do at the gas station...
But that gay shyt, i had to cut it off. Aint trying to see all that shyt :camby:

I respect the fact that this show is laying it out there regarding how nuts Hollywood can be. I understand how integral the homosexual element of the show is because that’s just what it is

With that being said the gay bonanza is too much for me. Klay’s lady is super sexy & Darren Criss is a great actor

Fact and fiction are blended insouciantly by Murphy. He peppers the action with historical figures such as Rock Hudson, Anna May Wong, Hattie McDaniel, Eleanor Roosevelt and notorious agent to the stars Henry Willson.

At the same time, many of the details that feel true in Hollywood turn out to be pure invention. There never was a thrusting young actor named Jack Castello. Or a gay African-American screenwriter called Archie Coleman. Ace Pictures, the studio at the centre of story, is a Murphy fancy.

The fun flows from the skill with which creator of Glee and American Horror Story interweaves truth and fantasy. The drive-in gigolo parlour where Castello finds employment, for instance, is a lightly-disguised retelling of the story of Scotty Bowers, who ran his “Dreamland” operation out of a service station on Hollywood Boulevard. Those orgies high in the Hollywood Hills, where Castello rejects the sleazy Willson, very probably happened too.

I was not interested in making a biopic,” Murphy told Collider recently. “I was not interested in doing a Wikipedia of Rock Hudson about, who did he know? How did he know them? Did he know Vivian Leigh? Was he aware of who Vivian Leigh was? Did he know who Tallulah Bankhead was?

“What I wanted to do is sort of an alternative universe look at it. In my universe, looking at these people, some things are the same and some things are very different. I want to make it clear to people that it is not a biopic approach to people’s lives. There are some things we kept very true, obviously, and there are some things that we changed.” They certainly did.

More fakkit propaganda. More mocking of black people

Yes and no.

Binged it last night and it ended on a very positive note. Presented the importance of presentation in media to historically disenfranchised groups and there was an obvious effort to group the disenfranchised groups (Black, Asian, Women, Gay) together on this show to effectively rise up against straight, white, bigoted men.

I won't get into particulars for those that might actually want to watch it, but suffice it to say straight white men take all of the losses in this show in the end.

I was prepared for this to be all aimless man fukking after the first couple episodes, but I appreciate the message. It's a good watch.
