i didnt say bench. chest = bench, incline, decline, flys, push ups, shoulder press to an extent, etc. push ups can only take you so far imo
single arm db bench would work for striking movements
Pushups can give you reasonable strength though still friend. If you can do 100 pushups in a row chances are you can bench 225 fairly easy. I dont want to be incredible hulk strong but strong enough to hem up and toss demonic individuals who challenge me demonically. My dead lift is already in the 3's and my squat is in the 4's. This is enough to take care of most demons using the power of Brazillian JIujitsu.
