I really don't get this, is this stuff satire or are they really serious. It really seems today's rap fans don't seem to understand that these artists really don't think much of them, and in a way are basically trolling your

Im glad someone else said it. I personally, as a black person am offended by this music. It offends my intelligence. We all know the skin color of the people who REALLY runs these radio stations and record labels. THIS is the type of music old white/jewish men see fit for blacks. These are the stereotypes & images THEY want going into the black youths' minds. I was so happy when this Bobby SchMURDA audition vid dropped:

I thought that it would wake more of us up about how these labels expect black artists to act in order to get mainstream exposure. The artist in the OP is simply making the type of song that he KNOWS will almost certainly guarantee him fame and riches the fastest. And that type of song has to spread messages about ignorance and negative negative stereotype about blacks. Rappers today are the ultimate sellouts and "c00ns" and mite as well be members of the KKK. At the end of the day, this music which is sooo popular in the black community is an extension of how we view ourselves. And ironically we have the highest level of self-hate among every group

:scust: what's up with the constipation flow?

Wassup with those rappers and their inability to speak properly ? Is it illegal to sound clear on the mic these days ? :heh:
Sounding as unintelligent as possible is becoming more and more accepted because we celebrate it. As long as the beat bangs and its catchy we love it. Well-spoken, intelligent rappers stand 0 chance today. Its considered corny and lame.

I get the premise of the thread. And to be honest, OP does have a point. Negativity sells. And I think that might just be due to the fact that humans are conditioned to be negative. That's why positive music isn't all that popular. It's like when Kendrick dropped 'i', it had a great message and in my opinion, sounded great... but people said it was too poppy and corny. What's so corny about a song encouraging kids to love themselves? Lord knows there's a child right now who's dealing with self-hate issues. You could argue that the way it was done was corny, but... in a sea of toxins, if I see a potion, I'm gonna reach for it. Same thing when J. Cole had Crooked Smile on Born Sinner.

But as Kendrick himself said... Some of these kids take music VERY seriously. And as an artist, you have a certain level of power and influence over your fans. They gravitate to you for a reason. Music in itself is very hypnotizing, cause if it wasn't, we wouldn't place so much importance in it. Celebrities, especially musicians, are worshiped as gods to people. They get paid millions to go do what they do, and everyone sees it. That's why I can see where the OP is coming from. Artists DO influence. Now I'm not saying we shouldn't have fun music, because we do. There's a lane for everything. But I think instead of trying to eliminate the bad (Which is impossible, let's be real), we should bring in more positivity and try to make that the standard. And we also can't blame it solely on the music, because there's also many other factors that contribute to those problems as well. At the end of the day, people make their own decisions, so that's something we have to keep in mind.

Like i said earlier, the POWER that music has period is highly underestimated. Music has NOT gon from positive and uplifting to negative simply by chance. It was done PURPOSELY. The powers that be saw how influential and motivating rap music had become in the early 90s and PURPOSELY injected more and more negativity into it as a way to keep us shackled mentally. And its working very effectively

"Pride comes just before the fall"

These trap rappers are over saturating the market to the point where people are getting tired of the shyt. With the events happening in Florida, Ferguson, and B More, it's only a short matter of time before people really wake up. Kind of like the east coast street rap in the mid 00s that was slowing down.

This c00n shyt is evident.

i saw a thread on this song recently but didnt think it would go anywhere. It sounded like a joke and a satire kinda like Coco. Why do we have no standards. :snoop:This constant glamorization of ignorance is disturbing. And even more disturbing is that no one seems to care:mjcry:. This song about drugs is now the latest release of poison directed at the black youth:mjcry:

:snoop: F**k everyone involved in the making of this song and the video all the way down to the person who rented the car that was used. :camby:
