With the new bargaining agreement any team that signs him will have to give up a 1st rounder when before salary arbitration would not have given him that much money. A team forking up a multi year deal at $10+ milli per year and a first rounder for a 32 year old platoon corner outfielder at this point in his career Is less likely. Have you seen this dude hit lately? He picked the wrong time to do this.

Yes. No more Type A/Type B, etc. Teams can still lose picks though, just the first 15 (?) picks are protected.

And the forfeited picks no longer go to the team which lost the player either. They simply disappear.
