I didn't discount anything.. Just saying that YES, his fight with Tyson will ALWAYS overshadow the rest of his achievements since he allowed Tyson to retire him in less than a round.. Never tried to bounce back, get a rematch, or at least go out with a W like a true ATG.... Our last memory of him will always be

Mike never wanted to be a pro boxer, but situations pushed him to it. He prolly had a couple more fights in him physically but he got a payday and cashed out. Doesn't hurt how great he was. One thing i hate is that damn tyson fight pretty much shaped most ppl's view on him. dude is an arguable top 5 light heavy of all time. cleared out that division, was undisputed and lineal, and became lineal in another division. That man is a hall of famer through and through.

People tend to forget that Spinks was awesome in the light-heavy division instead focusing on his fighting an old Larry Holmes and a couple subpar heavyweights before getting housed by Tyson.

Lots of fighters said they were nervous before fights, even Tyson. But Spinks couldn't even put on a poker face to pretend like he wasn't about to vacate his bowels. How you an undefeated champion being that shook?
