:what: Hulkamania nikka, what kind of dumb question is this

I actually lived that shyt, there was nothing like it, not even SCSA in the late 90s compared. He was the unquestioned leader, and he was used sparingly, which gave him celebrity status. Not even Brock touches that nowadays. Larger than life unlike any kids' hero b4 or since.
1/10. smh, u slippin, Riley

I literally laugh when people compare Hogan's 80's run to Austin in the 90's....

Hulkamania put him on the map along with WM and allowed for him to get to a point where he make an impact in the nwo.

i don't think ppl realize just how dominant hogan was in his prime. might even be more dominant than jordan.

look at all the first ballot HOFers that were active during hogan's reign. think about how much more illustrious their careers would have been if NOT for hogan. we're talking possibly multiple title reigns for god knows how many different wrestlers. but hogan was so dominant and for so long that most of them couldn't even sniff it. that's how far ahead he was from everyone else.

guys that might have been world champions couldn't even SNIFF the main event when hogan was on top.

guy came in and beat andre the giant... CLEAN!!! nobody was able to do that in 15 years!

hollywood hogan took a sleeper from piper :scusthov:

tapped out to the torture rack:scusthov:

needed a band of thugs to help him against stink-a-mania:scusthov:

Hulkamania is iconic, but he went out there and made another Hog' with that NWO run. Dude was beyond stale and wack and he flipped the world on it's head and brought wrestling back to the spotlight which paved the way for its resurgence.

actually i may be in the minority here but i do not think hollywood hogan's prime was in 96-97. yea that's when he shook the world and changed the game forever, but the only reason ppl hated him so much was because they never thought they would live to see it. deep down everyone knew that he was still the man only now it pained them to admit it. nobody was getting louder reactions than hogan and if you did it's because you were in the ring with him.

but when he started to come back around as a babyface in 99, that was the peak for hollywood. he retained the swag but he dropped the conceit and the arrogance. there was no reason not to love him anymore, and if you watch those promos with mean gene you'll see he was crazy over. hogan is just naturally better as the babyface. he's got too much charisma.

if he weren't so selfish and always inserting himself into the title picture he could have rode that wave for a long, LONG time. hollywood hogan could have had a VERY strong babyface run. MUCH stronger than what we saw.
