I honestly feel like this is more a beef with him and Hit Boy and Nas got caught in the crossfire.

Yeah I agree, but I don’t think he knows how silly the whole popularity/sales over skills argument is.

If you’re an elite level talent like Nas, it allows for a long career. He’s been able to reinvent himself over time.

Young Berg could barely rap and had to become Hitmaka out of necessity. It ended up working out for him.

Duh

them shyts don’t have no impact or numbers

these are facts
Impact on who and according to who…. cuz every artist pretty much impacts their audience and demographic only…and I KNOW Nas audience and demo were impacted by the album …..so having no impact to who?

Seems more like the Nas haters are the insecure ones. Why else would they talk about his impact and relevancy 24/7?

Hitmaka bought up Nas for no reason but his fans/ stans insecure?:comeon:

Ya'll just proved my point

Nas is in my top 5 and I have a great deal of respect for him as an artist and as a man but Young Berg is right

Yes he can sell out numerous venues with esse just because he is Nas but he hasn't had an impact album in hip hop since Life Is Good and even that's iffy

Knew you'd be in here. Thoughts on Nas selling out MSG without a hit in 20+ years?

This isn't even worth addressing and I'd hope that Hit Boy chills out. I think it's clear they aren't making music or releasing music in a way to do numbers. They're just...doing dope shyt. And this is a weird argument for Hitmaka considering he's promoting a Jim Jones collab that's about to bomb. Do sales matter for that album or is he gonna say "nah we were just making dope music and weren't thinking about sales" lol. Who cares if Jim Jones bombs in 2023. Who cares if Nas bombs in 2023. But one thing I do know...one of those dudes is a legend who effortlessly sold out MSG and is UP up financially. And the other guy is a bum paying gang members off scraps. You tell me who is winning.
And there were PLENTY of women there I might add.

Impact is tough to judge now because has never been more disposable. Is the KD run impressive? Sure, but it's mainly to appease the hardcore fan. Beyond that, it's tough to say who's really making lasting impact (damn near any suggestion would be wrong)

not that Jim Jones needs to be mentioned (I get what @Piff Perkins is saying though) but Jim's 2nd wind has mostly been really good and I don't think it's impacted the culture, but it was resonated with his fans and for the demo that appreciates rappers in their 40s making meaningful music.
Nas just sold out Madison Square Garden. And he did it with the KINGS DISEASE trilogy. Not Illmatic. Not It Was Written. Not I Am. Not Stillmatic.
Nas is a legacy act. He could drop Black Girl Lost pt. 3-15 and still sell out MSG.
