Because Trump merits it. Both from from the media and the intelligence community. Trump does these things to himself, Obama's treatment was largely because of his skin color.
Yes, being a public figure, critique is inevitable. But the two situations are different.
I want you to be Intellectually honest for a moment. If Obama had done all of the things Trump had and came from the same background would he have been President? How do you think he would have been treated if the First Lady was nothing more than a Trophy as opposed to being as educated (arguably even more) than her husband.
Trump is peak white privilege, The Black couple had to go above and beyond in their accomplishments just to be compared to their successors.
So we agree that Trump is treated far worse than Obama. The only question is if Trump deserves it. I think in some cases he does and in some cases he does not. When Trump gets ragged by critics for calling poor black countries shytholes or advocating violence at rallies it's well deserved. When the intelligence community leak private phone calls, for instance, I don't think it is.
If Obama was a flamboyant billionaire playboy with Trump's exact platform? He might have won by an even bigger margin. Maybe he'd have won the popular vote. The coli would turn into #TeamHoldYourOwnNuts on immigration, talking about how Obeezy got his woman in check.
But that's pure speculation.
As for peak white privilege, that's hard to say. We have a 2 party system in a country where each side HATES the other. Donald Duck could run and get 40% of the votes just off the strength of not being the other candidate. Add in the appeal of Trump's message on illegal immigration which has been ignored by pols for years and I can only conclude that he always had a shot.
If Obama had Trump's policies he would be just as if not even more popular. Herman Cain was on his way to get the nomination until they pulled the old hey lets find a bunch of women from his past to accuse him of shyt political tactic. Look at Kanye West's popularity soar after he said he loved Trump.
This was never about color but political policy opinions or party affiliation
